After graduating from UCT with a BA, Tamryn went on to pursue her passion for performance and teaching at the Cape Academy of Dramatic Arts. She completed her LTCL in teaching drama and her LAMDA associate diploma in performance, graduating in 1999 with Honours. She continued to hone her craft at AFDA, completing Acting for Screen Course, Directing & Producing Course and Screen-Writing Course.
From 2000 - 2005, Tamryn taught acting for theatre at Hout Bay Llandudno Dance and Drama Studio as well as voice and presentation workshops for Voice Works. She joined the team at ACT in 2006.
In 2007 Tamryn pursued her dream to study in New York. She worked with Susan Batson, private acting coach to Nicole Kidman, at the Black Nexxus Studios.
Tamryn also worked with Valerie Kingston, Uta Hagen trained coach in scene study classes.
Her time at TVI studio focused her attention on improvisation classes, monologue classes, audition technique, cold reading and soap and prime time intensives with leading casting directors for CBS.
Her love of Shakespeare led her to work with Tim Rowan, leading playwright and director of the Summer Shakespeare Festivals in the Park.
Tamryn has starred in commercials and films broad-cast world-wide as well as presented for numerous high profile events and continues to hone her craft with her private acting coach, Ruth Levine.
