Meisner Technique I

This intensive workshop explores and develops the fundamentals of the MEISNER Technique, while systematically introducing more advanced elements.

The MEISNER technique is an intense, fun, and ultimately liberating approach to acting as developed by the actor and master teacher, Sanford Meisner over the course of almost 50 years. From 1940 until his death in 1997 Meisner worked with many aspiring actors, as well as Hollywood film actors already established in their profession, who nonetheless came to 'Sandy' for his clarity, and his singular ability to hone an actor's capacity to listen, and live truthfully under given imaginary circumstances.

Workshop will cover:

    • Repetition.
    • Point of view.
    • Independent Activities and Doors.
    • Imaginary circumstances.
    • Scene work.

Participants prepare and perform a scene for live performance + film.
